As I’d mentioned before Christmas, I have multiple Blog Of The Year 2012 awards to give out…and I’ve decided to treat them as a type of holiday gift/Christmas card to those of you who have made me feel welcome since I’ve joined this universe. So, to celebrate my 4th Star…(And yes, thank you, I already have 5 & 6, but am trying to do these one at a time) I will be nominating more of my very cool blog finds on here.
So, thank you so much to Zombie Killing Badass, Robert, who shares a name with me…and who is an all around cool blogger! I appreciate your nod in my direction… 🙂
Here are the instructions that go with this award:
1 Select the blog(s) you think deserve the ‘Blog of the Year 2012’ Award
2 Write a blog post and tell us about the blog(s) you have chosen – there’s no minimum or maximum number of blogs required – and ‘present’ them with their award.
3 Please include a link back to this page ‘Blog of the Year 2012’ Award – http://thethoughtpalette.co.uk/our-awards/blog-of-the-year-2012-award/ and include these ‘rules’ in your post (please don’t alter the rules or the badges!)
4 Let the blog(s) you have chosen know that you have given them this award and share the ‘rules’ with them
5 You can now also join our Facebook group – click ‘like’ on this page ‘Blog of the Year 2012’ Award Facebook group and then you can share your blog with an even wider audience
6 As a winner of the award – please add a link back to the blog that presented you with the award – and then proudly display the award on your blog and sidebar … and start collecting stars…
Yes – that’s right – there are stars to collect!
Unlike other awards which you can only add to your blog once – this award is different!
When you begin you will receive the ‘1 star’ award – and every time you are given the award by another blog – you can add another star!
There are a total of 6 stars to collect.
Which means that you can check out your favorite blogs – and even if they have already been given the award by someone else – you can still bestow it on them again and help them to reach the maximum 6 stars!
‘Blog of the Year 2012’ Award Badges
Here are the six badges for you to collect – you can either ‘swop’ your badge for the next one each time you are given the award – or even proudly display all six badges if you are lucky enough to be presented with the award six times!
Now, on to the very deserving award recipients:
Vicky Nanjappa – who has written one of the most heartfelt pieces I’ve read in a while about a landmark that will soon be gone.
Hasty Words – she shows that there is definitely power in poetry…and will touch your heart with her words…if you let her.
Penny- from Bad Penny’s Always To Blame who can be naughty one moment and poignantly, powerful the next.
Kourtney Heintz– Who wrote about how a book saved her by helping her to unleash her emotions again.
Chris Martin– Has a way of touching the heart…this time, through a letter he wrote to his dad.
Terri Lee– Who cracks me up when she writes from her pets’ perspectives…or gets a song stuck in my head while discussing coffee. (Apparently I’m still out there “Dancing Cheek To Cheek”.)
Eunice- from Living And Loving who loves her dog and who actually finds treasures on her adventures!
If you haven’t checked out these awesome people…you really should. Hope everyone is recovering from their Christmas Hangover and are preparing to have a Safe and Happy New Year!
And to add a little humor…Here’s the 12 Days After Christmas…a favorite!
Great lyrics! I’d like to see them all written out, they are so funny. 🙂

LOL! They are…I sang it back in high school…
Here they are!
The Twelve Days After Christmas
The first day after Christmas
My true love and I had a fight
And so I chopped the pear tree down
And burnt it, just for spite
Then with a single cartridge
I shot that blasted partridge
My true love, my true love,
my true love gave to me.
The second day after Christmas
I pulled on the old rubber gloves
And very gently wrung the necks
Of both the turtle doves
My true love, my true love,
my true love gave to me.
On the third day after Christmas
My mother caught the croup
I had to use the three French hens
To make some chicken soup
The four calling birds were a big mistake
For their language was obscene
The five golden rings were completely fake
and turned my fingers green.
The sixth day after Christmas
The six laying geese wouldn’t lay
So I sent the whole darn gaggle to the
A.S.P.C.A.
On the seventh day, what a mess I found
The seven swans-a-swimming all had drowned
My true love, my true love,
my true love gave to me.
The eighth day after Christmas
Before they could suspect
I bundled up the
Eight maids-a-milking
Nine ladies dancing
Ten lords-a-leaping
Eleven pipers piping
Twelve drummers drumming – well, actually I kept one of the dancing ladies –
And sent them back collect
I wrote my true love
“We are through, love!”
And I said in so many words
“Furthermore your Christmas gifts were for the Birds!”

how great are you! I’m just now popping by to comment about: maarte…and punctuality…:) I am quick, too.

You know, I never noticed how many birds there were in this song before just now. Love the chicken soup line..and the idea of vulgar parrots…thanks, Kitt!

Loved those lines, too…along with “The 5 gold rings were completely fake and they turned my fingers green”. Even back in the day it cracked me up just to sing that part. 😀

whoops…I don’t know how that first one ended up here…but annyhoo. I am a stickler for punctuality–to a fault. If we say, make a date for eleven, and you’re not here by 5 to, well, you’re late. (must work on this, hehe) and I am a lil maarte now and again, but always working on it. (it’s hard to keep an audience!!)

LOL! I’m pretty sure you pick your moments to be maarte. Hubby will tell you that I have those moments, too…(Oh, my….just realized what THAT sentence sounded like…and being maarte…kind of enjoyed it).
