I Saw The Light!

View From Pool

It’s been raining every day here for about a month. Am I looking for sympathy? No. I’m just saying that it’s been one of the rainiest Florida summers I’ve seen in a long time, which means I haven’t been able to play in my pool or work on my tan. Today, the sun finally peeked out. There were a few drizzly moments, but even then the sun shown…. Who enjoyed it?

Moi, of course! Nothing like a cool beverage, my own pool and privacy…and some good reading. What was I reading? Why the wonderful Lissa Matthews’ book Trouble In The Making, of course! Hey, hot rock star, tattoos, leather… what’s not to like? And of course it was on the racy side. I’ll be doing a sexy review tellin’ ya’ll just why I liked it, too… Just not today. 😉

So what do I look like now that I’ve turned 40? Exactly the same, of course! Strange how 40 sounded so old when I was 20…and now I wonder what the fuss was all about. I still feel like a wild and crazy twenty-something. Age ain’t nothing but a number…unless you choose to make it something more.

I don't feel 40...Or look it. ;-)

So what about you guys? How did you spend your day today? Was there an age that freaked you out when you were younger? Who do you love to read when hanging by the pool or at the beach? What genre?

I read some Nora Roberts more in the summer, James Patterson in the winter. I like Janet Evanovich, movie “One for the Money” was pretty good based on the very first book of Stephanie Plum, bail bondswoman! I like your self photo and you are totally correct, you don’t look 40! I was worried more when I turned 50 and now, seeing as I am approaching 58, worried about 60!! Yikes! Take care, Robin

Sometimes my body feels my age like after going for a 1 1/2 hr walk this afternoon. I was freaked more at 30 that 40 or 50..I am a little scared about the 60 that is looming. I read Jodi Picoult some horror, but mainly now I write (if I have the chance to laze anywhere). x

I am reading more now than I have in years & I used to be quite the bookworm back in the day. Of course now I can claim it’s research.

As for 60– Jen, you’re fabulous at any age.

Great music choice, Kitt. I tell myself quite often age is nothing but a number!
We’ve had a blissful week of sunshine in Cork. I’ve been out in the garden also working on my tan. 🙂 I read Forever Road over the last couple of days by Catie Rhodes and chilled out to some Bruce Springsteen.

I’m turning 48 this month and absolutely have loved the mental and spiritual growth that comes along year after year…I wouldn’t trade the aging process for anything….I only would wish that I had purchased the extended warranty for my body….

Sorry I’m late in sending you birthday wishes, Kitt. I’ve been on vacation, but have to say you are rockin’ the 40-look! Belated happy birthday. 😀 As for 40, I can say I remember when, LOL.

We had a cloudy week too with scattered rain every day. It’s been great since the 4th though, and I’ve been getting a lot of use out of our pool. As soon as I catch up on email and add a few pages to my latest WIP, I’m headed there! Hope your special day was wonderful!

I LOVE that you’re hanging out by the pool, enjoying the LIGHT and LOVE of the Present Day – woo hoo! I admit to having pool envy… ours is taking a long time getting to that Pristine Blue stage this summer, given the broken filter… but at least it’s no longer the Black Lagoon! LOL!!

Happy (obviously belated) birthday! (… I was gone for a while… sorry to have missed it) Very stylish pool-side hanging – I hope the weather holds up for you!
