Those of you who’ve followed me for a while know that Christmas is my all time favorite holiday. For me it’s all about good will, friendship, family and solidarity that is universal across the world…because whether your holiday is Hanukkah or Kwanzaa or Christmas, if you’re able to strip down the commercialism, December is a month where everyone focuses outside of themselves to those around them in a show of love and appreciation.
So, every day I’ll be posting a favorite Christmas song, just as I did last year. Those of you who aren’t big on the holidays…I understand…and I won’t be offended if you skip those posts (I’ll still have “regular” posts, too).
To kick December off, I thought I’d start with a Jim Brickman collaboration with Richie McDonald from Lonestar and his song “Coming Home For Christmas.” What’s your favorite holiday? Do you have a favorite Christmas song?
It usually takes me a while to get into the holiday spirit, but the wonderful Christmas season music helps. Thanks for sharing!

Hmm so many to choose from – perhaps the golden oldie – Bing Crosby I’m dreaming of a white Christmas? – yup I’m older… but I like Michael Bubbles as well 😉 This was a beautiful song – thank you Kitt…put a candle in the window just for me – a beautiful line. I think Christmas is my fave. xx 🙂

I, too, love Bing’s White Christmas. In fact, that’s my favorite Christmas movie. Danny Kaye, Rosemary Clooney, Bing & Vera Ellen… What’s not to love? Glad you enjoyed the song & the beautifully evocative lyrics. 🙂

No – thank you and I am happy you like the oldies 🙂 xx

I love all Christmas songs except one ( I’ve forgotten the title, but I posted about this song 2 years ago … it’s the worst, I think)

I’m dying to know what song could be the worst Christmas song in your estimation. Gonna have to go digging through your old posts! 🙂

Hello Kitt and Happy Holidays. What a beautiful song and I’m definitely adding it to a playlist. I can always count on you to bring me some great music. I finally started my ‘Blogs I Follow Page’ in earnest and you are among the first 10 blogs I added because you were among the earliest of my blogging friends on a regular basis. If you happen to check out your link and see anything wrong, please let me know and I’ll fix it right away.

Aw, thanks, Sheri! I’ll run over to check it out. You were one of my first blog buddies, too, thanks to Mae. Hope the health challenges you guys have been dealing with have eased up.

I prefer Halloween to Christmas, but I do enjoy seeing family and friends at this time every year. Growing up, we weren’t allowed to mention the word “Christmas” in our house until December 1st, and that’s something I’ve tried to stick to even as an adult. 🙂
I adore “Fairytale of New York”.

Oh very pretty. I love this time of year too. My favorite holiday is July 4th but Christmas is a close second 🙂 I keep a bit of Christmas up all year and my cell always plays a rocked out version of Carole of Bells. lol Cant wait to hear all the ones you pick out to share 🙂

Thanks, Anna! Hubby loves the 4th, too, though I suspect it’s because he has a bit of a pyro streak and the holiday allows him to indulge his need to blow stuff up. Usually have a ton of fireworks (and not the little stuff).
